Edgewood hands Eagles third loss

Edgewood Academy beat Fort Dale Academy 24-14 on Friday in a battle of Top Ten teams in Wetumpka on Thursday night.
The No. 6 Eagles fell to 7-3 on the year, while No. 10 Edgewood moved to 9-2.
The Eagles – snake bit all season by injuries – suffered several more on Thursday to a pair of starters: both linebackers Brandon Matthews and Stephen Till left the game with injuries. Fellow starter Perry Singleton did not play due to injury as well.
Fort Dale hosts Morgan Academy next Friday night in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.
