Sheriff Kenny Harden says the Butler County Sheriff’s Department will help keep McKenzie safe while the town searches for a new police chief.
“I’ve talked to the mayor down there, and I told him we would do anything we could to help McKenzie,” Harden said. “We aren’t going to let anyone go unprotected.”
Harden said state troopers would work accidents inside the city limits.
Calls to the mayor of McKenzie, Melvin Shufford, were not returned, and at this time, no more information is available as to why Chief Clint Reeves was dismissed.
