The Fort Dale girl’s volleyball teams lost to Lee-Scott Monday, in their first game since the return of their coach Scarlett Anderson from maternity leave.
“I spent most of the game just sitting back and watching how they are playing,” Anderson said. “They looked good but there are still some things I noticed that need to be tweaked.”
Anderson said finding time to practice has been tough with their busy game schedule. The Eagles play an away game today and Monday, followed by two home games on Tuesday and Thursday.
“Hopefully I can spend some time with them before the game today and draw out plays on the whiteboard,” Anderson said.
The varsity squad lost all three sets, Anderson said, with the first set score ending 25-21 and the second 25-23. The final set, Anderson explained, was when “communication started dissolving.”
The junior varsity enjoyed some success, winning their second set 27-25, led by a comeback from Molly Boutwell.
“We we’re digging the ball really well, but our blocking needs some work,” Anderson said. “I have to get the team blocking better and make sure they know where they are supposed to be on the court and when.”
