Fall tennis leagues announced

As one season ends, another begins for the Greenville Area Community Tennis Association. GACTA has opened registration for its fall leagues.
This fall will feature four leagues, including the new adult and advanced doubles league. This league will be for advanced youth players through adults of any age. The league will play Thursdays starting at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 through Nov. 1. This league will play four games at Beeland Park weekly.
The quick start league will meet on Mondays, starting Sept. 27 and running through Nov. 1. Quick-start league utilizes smaller courts and rackets, while also employing bigger balls and quicker games. The age group will be from age 4 to 10 and the group will meet on Greenville Elementary School’s courts from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
The beginner singles league, for players ages 12 and under who know how to serve from the baseline, will also meet on Mondays. The group will start up Sept. 2 and run through Nov. 1. The beginner singles league will meet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Beeland Park.
Last, but not least, the intermediate singles league will play Mondays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Beeland Park. This league is for players ages 18 and under who are comfortable with playing matches. This league will play 6 games weekly at Beeland Park and will get started Sept. 27 and run through Nov. 1.
The fall league fees will be $15 for individual and $25 for families who are GACTA members. Non-GACTA member fees are $25 per individual, with not family discount. Drop-in players can play for $5 per play date.
Registration forms can be obtained form YMCA Greenville. Completed forms, with checks payable to GACTA, can be turned into Rodger Harris at BancorpSouth.
