GHS’s Riley recognized by ASWA

Greenville’s Kent Riley was a nominee for the Alabama Sports Writer Association’s weekly Offensive Player of the Week in high school football. Riley rushed for 222 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 90 yards and another score to help lead the Tigers to a 52-41 win over Paul Bryant High School last Friday night.

Greenville (2-1) hosts Chilton County Friday.

The Offensive Player of the Week was Sharrod Cochran of Lincoln High School. Cochran accounted for 360 yards in a 45-44 OT loss against Holtville last week. Defensive Player of the Week was A.J. Bennett of John Essex in Demopolis.
