Dear Editor,
We would like to take this time to thank everyone for their hard work and support during the recent Dixie Youth State Tournament at the Greenville Sports Complex.
Approximately 2,500 people attended the event, which drew participants from all over the state for the 12-team tournament. More importantly, those teams and their fans spent up to a week in the Camellia City pumping money into the local economy.
From our Greenville Parks and Recreation Department to other city departments and numerous volunteers, it took an army of indivudals to pull together to make this event a success. We are very appreciative of everyone’s efforts and want to thank them for the long hours they put it to help Greenville put its best foot forward.
We received nothing but positive comments from the teams who participated here as well as Dixie Youth officials who were in town for the vent. In Fact, they’ve expressed an interest in bringing another state tournament in the near future, and that’s a possibility we will explore.
Once again, thank you Greenville for helping us make this prestigious event a success. We couldn’t have done it without you.
