The McKenzie School JV cheerleaders are continuing to work hard at raising funds for their dream trip to Orlando and the 2011 Capital One Bowl. The 13-member squad will perform at the pre-game show.
“Things are going really well and I am so pleased,” said Darlene Odom, JV cheerleader sponsor.
The raffle for the 42-inch flat screen TV will end Friday night, September 3 at the football game.
“The tickets are $5 and a portion of that money goes to the cheerleaders, with all proceeds going to the Girls’ Athletic Program here at McKenzie,” said Odom. The tickets will be sold right up to halftime, when the drawing for the TV will be held.
A new raffle for an electric smoker grill will get underway next week. Tickets will be $2 each and all proceeds will go to the JV cheerleaders.
This weekend, treat your sweet tooth and check out their big bake sale at the 31 Marathon between Georgiana and McKenzie.
The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, September 4, and Odom promises plenty of cookies, cakes, brownies and cupcakes along with other baked goods to enjoy.
“We sure appreciate everyone’s support. This is such an exciting opportunity for our girls,” Odom said.
