Bobby Tomberlin and friends to perform Saturday night

Nashville and Hollywood comes to Luverne this Saturday, July 17 as Luverne native Bobby Tomberlin brings his Bobby Tomberlin and Friends Show to the Luverne United Methodist Church Dei Center beginning at 7 p.m.
Along with Tomberlin will be Steve Dorff, who is musical director and a cast member with Bobby on the CMT hit series, “The Singing Bee.”
Dorff resides in Los Angeles and is a five-time Emmy and three-time Grammy nominee and has written classics such as “Through The Years”, “I Cross My Heart”, “Every Which Way But Loose”, “Heartland” and “I Just Fall In Love Again”.
Dorff has had over 500 of his songs recorded by George Strait, Merle Haggard, The Carpenters, Celine Dion, Ray Charles, Roy Rogers, Alison Krauss and Ringo Starr, just to name a few.
Some of his movie credits include “Bronco Billy”, “Every Which Way But Loose”, “Pure Country”, “Michael”, “Rocky IV”, and “The Junction Boys (The Bear Bryant Story).” He has also written music for TV shows including “Growing Pains”, “Murder She Wrote”, “Reba”, “Columbo”, “Rodney”, “Murphy Brown”, and many others.
Tomberlin also welcomes his wife, writer/artist/actress Candi Carpenter, and L.A. writer/artist, Shayne Fair. Luverne native Brandon Rolling will open the evening’s performance.
Brandon is a graduate of Luverne High School and presently attends Auburn University. He is the son of Danny and Lisa Rolling of Luverne.
