Mr. Thomas Franklin Daniel, Sr., 86, a resident of Honoraville, AL, died April 12, 2010, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, April 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Gail Woodard, Rev. Thomas F. Daniel, Jr., and Rev. Joe Leverette officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. The family will receive flowers or donations may be given to the Spring Hill, Danielville, or Spring Creek Cemetery funds.
Mr. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. Daniel, Sr. and Alice Stringer Daniel; brother, Charles C. Daniel, Jr; wife, Cora Gibson Daniel, and son, Michael Jackson Daniel. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Grace Hartin Daniel; son, Thomas F. Daniel, Jr. (Sylvia) of Lynn Haven, FL; stepsons, Larry Hartin (Jackie) of Montgomery, AL, Gerald Hartin of Honoraville, AL; grandchildren, Melissa Daniel Marshall (Robert) of Cumming, GA, Thomas F. (Bo) Daniel, III (Denise) of Greenville, AL, Robert Hartin of Montgomery, AL, Jeremy Hartin (Holly) of Wetumpka, AL; great -grandchildren, Sarah Grace, Kerstin, Molly Daniel, of Greenville, AL, Sydney Marshall of Cumming, GA, Noah Sims, Peyton Sims, Jeremiah Hartin of Wetumpka, AL; sister, Doris Daniel Burns of Montgomery, AL ; several nieces and nephews and special caregiver, Amanda Sexton.
Mr. Daniel was born October 13, 1923 in Crenshaw County, AL. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and touched their lives in ways that words cannot express. Mr. Daniel served in the US Army during the World War II in the Phillipines and was part of the occupying forces in Japan. He retired from the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, as well as cattle farming. He had many interests among which were gardening, fishing, hunting, and being with family and friends. Mr. Daniel was a member of the Masonic Lodges in Honoraville and Luverne for over 50 years. He also was a longtime member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and active participant in activities at the Springhill Methodist Church and Danielville Baptist Church. Pallbearers include: C. J. Faulk, Steve Jackson, Robert Croley, Aubrey Gibson, Robert Marshall, and James Tucker.
