Clarence Cavit Butler, age 85, a resident of Forest Home, died in New Orleans, La. on Sunday April 11, 2010. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at First Baptist Church Greenville with Rev. Tim Patton and Dr. Paul McLendon officiating. Mr. Butler will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Greenville, AL. Burial will follow in Shackleville Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, Greenville, AL. Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mary Butler and his brother Ray Butler. He is survived by wife of 67 years, Bessie Raye Butler; two daughters, Brenda Flowers (Buddy) and Charlotte Blasingame (David) of Greenville; two sons, Tony Butler (Debi) of Clinton, SC; Clarence “Charlie” Butler of Lafayette, La.; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren, one great- great- grandson; three sisters, Mary Joyce Lambert of Ponchatoula, La.; Hazel Scurry of Palatka, Fla.; Sara Criswell of Picayune, Miss. and brother James Butler of Pensacola, Fla., several nieces and nephews; and caregiver Jeanora Presley of Forest Home.
