YMCA is starting registration for upcoming events.

Soccer, swimming and t-ball are some of the programs that will be offered.

Amanda Phillips, executive director of the Greenville YMCA, said that there are plenty of activities for citizens to choose from.

“We are right now registering for soccer, which is co-ed ages 3-12,” Phillips said. “We also have t-ball, for ages 3 and 4, and swimming lessons that for ages 3 through adult.”

Swimming lessons will be held in two-week sessions. Four different courses will be taught, beginning on June 1.

The Greenville YMCA will be offering more water activities than swim just lessons. Anyone ages 7-15 can sign up for the Tiger Shark Swim team. Water aerobics will be resuming after the pool opens back up, Phillips said.

Phillips said the Y will also be offering lifeguard certification courses.

“It is limited to eight participants per class,” Phillips said. “They will learn CPR, AED, and how to put victims on a backboard, among other things”

The certification course will be taught by John Haire and will be held April 24-May 1.

T-ball, Phillips said, will also be offered.

“We will be playing t-ball on the football field again,” Phillips said. “It’s a lot of fun working with kids that age.”

Those wanting more information can call the Y at 382-0550. Also, Phillips said volunteers are still needed. Willing volunteers can contact Amanda Phillips at the Y.
