McKenzie Grade Road waiting on good weather for repairs

A soggy landscape due to recent rains is hampering road repairs in south Butler County.
McKenzie Grade Road (County Road 45) is currently closed following a water line blowing up.
It was announced at Monday night’s town hall meeting crews in McKenzie have been unable to repair the damage due to the lack of enough sunny days to give the packing a chance to dry properly.
Culverts around the town will be checked to assess any possible damage due to the recent rains.
The McKenzie Town Council is also investigating the possibility of bringing more retail business to town in the form of a dollar store or convenience store to offer residents basic groceries and household items at competitive prices.
Council members signed off on the closing out of the fire department grant at the conclusion of the meeting.
The McKenzie VFD will be hosting McKenzie Fest again on May 8 with proceeds going to furnish the firehouse.
Booths are available for rental by contacting Town Hall at 334-374-2311.
The McKenzie Town Council meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Town Hall (located inside Bank Trust). The public is encouraged to attend.
