Mr. Milton Cuyler Smith Jr., 83, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away at home on December 24, 2009.
Funeral services were Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Dr. Paul McLendon officiating. Burial followed in Sunrise Memorial Park with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family received friends one hour prior to service.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara McQueen Smith of Montgomery, AL; son, Milton “Mack” C. Smith, III (Judy) of Leesburg, FL; daughter, Kelli S. Chambers (Greg) of Clanton, AL; one grandson, Chad Chambers of Clanton, AL; four sisters, Billie Burns of Pell City, AL; Helen Nicholson of Irvine, TX; Gracie Hall of Montevallo, AL; Sarah Jane Horton of Paramore, CA and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include: Mark Bishop, Allen Joiner, Denny Williams, Mark Hall, Steve Hall, Mark DeBellis,
Honorary pallbearers include: Bill Joiner, Francis Sanders, and Victory Bound Sunday School Class of Heritage Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith received his education from the University of Montevallo, Troy State University, and The University of Alabama.
He served as Principal of the schools in Columbiana, AL, DeFuniak Springs, FL, La Belle, FL, Tavares, FL. and Headmaster of
Fort Dale Academy for 2 years in Greenville, AL.
Mr. Smith retired from Leesburg Junior High School, Leesburg, Fl. which completed 32 years of service in public education, one of which was in administration.
He was an avid Alabama fan and loved sports and fishing.
Also, Mr. Smith was a member of Kiwanis of Leesburg, FL.
