Jesse Savage, a resident of Greenville, died December 1, 2009. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1 p.m. from Lomax-Hannon Auditorium with Rev. Mark Hawkins officiating. Burial followed in Sweet Home Cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing. Mr. Savage leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife Lillie Bell Lewis-Savage; sons, James (Dorene) Savage, Las Vegas, NV; Sean (Teisha) Smith, Greenville, Sam Lewis, Jimmy (Minnie) Lewis, both of Forest Home; daughters, Mary Malone, Augusta, Ga., Yvonne Savage, Ravie Faye (Jackie) Singleton, Washington, D.C., Margaret (Frazier) Coleman, Marlow Heights, Maryland, Ada (Rod) Holcomb, Fairmont Heights, Maryland; Christine (Alvin) Jenkins, Fort Washington, Maryland, Sylvia (James) Ware, Verbena, Betty (Gwen) Britt, Montgomery, Mary Robinson, Greenville, Lena Russell, Birmingham, Beverly (Harold Sr.) Daniels, Montgomery, Margaret (Danny) Williams, Opelika, Patricia Simmons, Atmore, Ollie S. McBride, Cleveland, Ohio, sister, Rose Ann Womack, Forest Home, two brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Atkins Sr., Forest Home, Henry James Atkins, Pensacola; two sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Waters and Ruthie Savage, both of Greenville;43 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him very much.
