The McKenzie Tigers were able to crack the Class 1A Top Ten in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll this week.

McKenzie, 5-0, received 47 votes after their 34-12 win over J.U. Blacksher on Friday night.

Fort Dale Academy, No. 1 since the start of the season in AISA, fell to No. 6 after its 27-23 loss to Macon-East. The Eagles (4-1) received 207 votes. Edgewood Academy, 5-0, claimed the top spot this week.

Also, the Greenville Tigers, (5-0), continued its climb in the Class 5A polls, moving up to No. 4 and receiving one first place vote. Last week’s No. 1, Vigor High School, dropped a 26-6 game to Opelika High School. Ironically, Opelika is coached by Brian Blackmon, Tigers’ head coach Ben Blackmon’s brother.
