GMS blasts CHMS

Earlier this season, the Greenville Tigers blasted Charles Henderson in varsity action and the Middle School Tigers followed suit with a 34-14 win Thursday night.
“We started aggressively, and that was our goal,” said head coach Josh McLendon.
Greenville took the opening drive down the field and Harper Vinson capped it with a 14-yard run.
Following a Jerome Watkins two-point conversion, the Tigers were up 8-0.
On CHMS’s first offensive play, the Greenville defense converged in the backfield to drop the Trojans for a safety.
“We jumped on them 10-0 early, and after that, we just pinned our ears back,” McLendon said.
Donte Lee scored early in the second quarter, and Greenville didn’t let up for the rest of the game.
“It was a great overall, collective effort, and I’m glad that we rebounded after a loss to a good Wetumpka team last week,” McLendon said. “We showed heart and discipline.”
Next week, the Tigers take on Wilcox at Tiger Stadium for homecoming.
