Dorothy Shanklin, a resident of Greenville, died Thursday, July 16, 2009. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. from New Bethel Christian Church, Elder Tommie Means, pastor, Apostle R.B. Williams, officiating.
Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services directing.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband Hubert Shanklin; daughter, Marilyn (Charlie) Lymon; grandchildren, Latoya (Todd) Barnes, Nakisha, Marquita (Marcus Patterson), Charlie Jr., Charleston, Franchetta and Marisha Lymon; great-grandchildren, Elaysheona Malone, Tagen Barnes, Purpose Lymon, TJ Barnes, and Caleb Owens, new arrival November 2009; seven brothers, Ernest (Rosie) Thompson, David (Lois) Thompson, all of Greenville, Frank (Susie) Thompson, Panama City, Fla., Ester (Loretta) Thompson, Chris (Melissa) Rogers, Jerry (Angelo) Rogers; seven sisters, Betty (Tommie) Bedgood, Mary (Kenneth) Barge, Sarah (Ricky) Gregory, Eloise (Lee) Henderson, all of Greenville; Patricia (Willlie) Hasley, Georgiana; Norma (Cleve) Smith, MOnica (Willie) Cook, a host of nices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
