Terry ” Ted ” ( Flat ) Smith, age 76 , a resident of Fort Deposit. died Tuesday , July 21,2009 .Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23,2009  at 3 p.m. from the Fort Deposit United Methodist Church ,with The Reverend Dennis Carlson officiating. Interment followed in the Myrtlewood Cemetery of Ft. Deposit with Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville directing.
Mr. Smith did lie in repose from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church.
The family requests that  in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fort Deposit United Methodist Church.
Survivors include; wife, Evelyn Hawkins Smith, Ft. Deposit ; son, Robert ( Bob ) Smith , Ft. Deposit; sister-in-law, Ann Smith, Selma, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Smith, four brothers and three sisters.
Our family of friends from the Fort Deposit United Methodist Church of Fort Deposit served as honorary pallbearers.
