The Georgiana softball team closed out the regular season with a 10-0 win over Frisco City on Monday.
The game was a makeup game from earlier in the season.
The Panthers were led by Iesha McCall, who had two RBIs on the day.
In fact, all but two Georgiana players scored or had an RBI.
Georgiana also got a dominating performance on the mound from Anna Nelson, who struck out 13 of the 19 batters she faced.
The only Whippet baserunners were hit by a pitch or walked, and the Panthers only committed one error.
That win came after a 7-3 loss to Highland Home in Georgiana last Friday.
The Panthers will face the Whippets again Thursday in the area tournament, and the winner will play J.U. Blacksher.
“I think we’ll do fine,” said head coach Michael Spencer. “When the girls really play, they can win some games.”
One of the biggest issues facing the Panthers this season has been injuries, and Spencer said they’ve been making progress in that department all season.
“We’ve been down four or five players all year,” he said. “We’ve even had trouble finding nine players at times, but now we have almost everyone back. That’s the first time that’s happened since opening day.”
