Rainfall tops five inches

Greenville received over five inches of rain in three days according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Mobile.
Precipitation between Saturday morning and Monday afternoon was the heaviest. Spotters report rainfall totals at 24-hour intervals.
Butler County had totaled 2.34 inches of rain on Sunday and another 2.44 inches of rain on Monday morning. Rainfall average for the three-day period was 5.27 inches, according to the NWS.
The NWS is reporting a mostly rain-free weekend with temperatures in the mid-60s. Days should become cooler on Friday with a high of only 70. Saturday’s daytime temperature is expected to reach 67 degrees with a low of 41 degrees.
