B-Team Bulldogs down Tigers, 33-31

The B-Team Brantley Bulldogs came away with a 33-31 win over the Luverne Tigers Saturday afternoon after leading the Tigers throughout the entire game.
Brantley ended the first quarter with a 9-4 lead, and they kept upping that score during the second quarter. With 2:22 left in the second quarter, the Bulldogs had an 18-4 lead; however, by halftime, the Tigers started coming alive and added six points to the board in those remaining two minutes as the two teams headed to the locker rooms with Brantley leading 19-10.
Even though the Bulldogs kept their lead, the Tigers were steadily adding points, ending the third quarter trailing Brantley 25-16.
But it was during the final five minutes of the game that the Luverne Tigers came roaring back, leaving fans on the edge of their seats as they crept closer and closer to a win over the Bulldogs. However, they didn’t quite make it, falling to Brantley 33-31.
For Luverne, Tige Townsend led with 13 points, followed by Jalen Johnson with 7 points and Quin Lee with 6 points. Darrius Taylor and Hayden Shelton both added two points each for the Tigers.
Clint Kilcrease led the B-Team Bulldogs with 9 points, while Taylor Tew added 6 points. Zach Wiley and O.J. Guice dropped in four points each for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs’ B-Team now has an overall 4-3 season record.
