GPRD adult softball league begins 2007 season

The 2007 Greenville Parks and Recreation Department adult softball league got underway Tuesday with five teams competing in the men's league and two teams in the women's league.

Here are the results from Tuesday night:

TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 17, Hwashin 0

Seven TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 players had multiple hits Tuesday night en route to the first win of the season over Hwashin, 17-0.

James Kelly was the leading hitting for TCB's, going 3-for-3 with a run scored.

Charleston Wilson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Ryan Duncan was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Kevin McGough was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a homerun, Mike Ingram was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a homerun, Sonny Little was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Jason Smith was 2-for-2 with a homerun and two runs scored, Luther Shrader was 1-for-2 with a run scored and Steven Kelley was 1-for-2 with a runs scored.

Richard Duffell also scored a run in the win.

For Hwashin, James McQueen had the lone hit.

TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 will take on Camellia Printing at 8 p.m. Tuesday on field 3. Hwashin will take on Crenshaw Flooring at 7 p.m. Tuesday on field 3.

TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 18, SeJong 11

Playing in the second game of the night, 10-of-11 TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 players had multiple hits to help down SeJong, 18-11.

Charleston Wilson was the leading hitter for TCB's, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Ryan Duncan, Kevin McGough, Mike Ingram, Sonny Little, James Kelly, Richard Duffell, Jason Smith, Luther Shrader and Chris Stinson each had two hits, including a homerun by Duncan and a triple by Little.

For SeJong, Lynn Lewis was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Carlos Perdue was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Alvin Johnson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Curtis and Tobe each had two hits while Kevin, Cardell Robinson, Bruce Crenshaw and Eric Simpson each had one hit.

SeJong will take on Camellia Printing at 7 p.m. Tuesday on field 2 and Crenshaw Flooring at 8 p.m. on field 2.

Camellia Printing 10, Hwashin 0

Camellia Printing scored three runs in the third inning and four runs in the fifth Tuesday to secure the win over Hwashin, 10-0.

Offensively for Camellia Printing, Ruben Burkett and Brady Newton were each 3-for-3 with a homerun, Brandon Burnette was 3-for-3 with a runs scored and Zack Shavers was 3-for-3 with a run scored. Newton also scored three runs while Burkett scored two.

Kyle Lee and Eric Burkett were each 2-for-2 with a double while Curtis Pierce and Chris Moore also each scattered a double.

For Hwashin, Mike Smith and Leonard Ackron each had a double while Demetrius Bedgood and a pair of singles.

Camellia Printing will take on SeJong Tuesday at 7 p.m. on field 2 and then TCB's Corner Caf\u00E9 at 8 p.m. on field 3.

Camellia Printing 12, SeJong 10

Camellia Printing scored three runs in the final to overcome a one-run deficit to take the win over SeJong, 12-10.

Kyle Lee, Brady Newton and Brandon Burnette each had two hits, including a double and a triple, while Ruben Burkett had a double and a run scored.

Eric Burkett, Curtis Pierce, Blackley Ward and Chris Moore also each had a hit in the win.

For SeJong, Lynn Lewis and Kelvin Smith each scored two runs while Eric Simpson and Robert McIlwain each scored one.

Burke's 16, Cummings 1

In the girl's softball league, Burke's scored 12 runs in the second inning to cruise to victory over Cummings, 16-1.

Payne, Sunnycalb, Mitchell, Murphy, M. Roper and Bonner each scored two runs while Palmer, Bertel and S. Roper each scored one.

For Cummings, Shannon scored the lone run in the second inning.
