Union Baptist VBS
Due to Hurricane Dennis, Bible School at Union Baptist church has been rescheduled for Wednesday August 3rd – Friday August 5th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 8:00 – noon. Classes will be held for Nursery – Youth. Everyone is invited to attend.

Thomas Reunion
The family and descendants of Ida and Frank Thomas of the Sandcut Community will hold its annual family reunion on Saturday, Aug. 6, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club in Beeland Park.
Garland VFW Yard Sale
Garland Volunteer Fire Department will have a yard sale on Saturday, August 6th starting at 8 AM.
We will have old and new stuff.
Hot dogs, drinks and boiled peanuts too!
Weed Whacking Weekend
On Saturday, August 6, 2005, Greenville Middle School will have a "Weed-whacking Weekend" event from 6:30 a.m. until. All parents and volunteers are invited to bring weed-eaters, hedge clippers or lawn mowers to help clean and landscape the school grounds.
Refreshments will be served.
Gospel Explosion
Rapture MInistries will present a Gospel Explosion beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at New Testatment Holiness Church on Wagon Wheel Road in Fort Deposit.
There will be many special speakers and musicians bringing the Word of God to those in attendance.

East Greenville Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and morning services with the Rev. Lenny Bolton of Chisholm Baptist Church delivering the message at 11 a.m.
Baptismal services and dinner on the grounds will follow.

Antioch East Baptist Church will host Homecoming at 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2005 with a covered dish lunch to follow.
Revival
Antioch East Baptist Church will hold revival services Aug. 7-10 with the Sunday night service at 6:30 p.m. and the Monday to Wednesday with services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Bruce Willis and the Worship Leader is Brad Jones.

Sardis Baptist Church in Pigeon Creek will celebrate homecoming on Aug. 8.
Sardis Baptist Church was established in 1856 and continues its homecoming service the first Sunday in August each year.

The Butler County Board of Education will hold a budget hearing on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office Boardroom located at 215 Administrative Drive, Greenville, AL. The public is encouraged to attend.
American Legion Activation
There will be a reactivation meeting of the American Legion Post #24 at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the American Legion Building.
The meeting will be used to elect new officers.

New Ebenezer Baptist Church of Highland Home will observe its 150th Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 with worship services at 10:30 a.m.
There will be no Sunday School that morning.

Lunch will be served afterwards in the fellowship hall.
At 1:30 there will be a singing and PowerPoint presentation of pictures throughout the years of the church in the beautiful new sanctuary.

21st Century Afterschool Program
The Butler County Board of Education will be offering a 21st Century Afterschool Program for K-8th grade students Monday-Friday until 5 p.m. at W.O. Parmer, Greenville Elementary, and at the Education and Community Center for Greenville Middle School students. Certified teachers assist with homework and offer learning activities which are fun and educational. Tuition is $25 per month. Registration forms are available at each of the sites. GHS Child Care
Greenville High School Child Care is accepting applications for the 3-to-4-year-old daycare program for 2005-2006 school year.
