Knott, Hall to attend Alabama Singles Summit

Angel Knott Luverne and Susan Hall of Rutlege will be attending the Alabama Singles Summit on Nov. 5-6 in Montgomery at the Taylor Road Baptist Church.
The two days are going to be great and the keynote speaker will be Kenn Kington. There will be breakout sessions following Kington's presentation. There will feature discussions of many topics of interest and concern to Christian singles.
Knott and Hall attend Fountain of Life Assemblies of God in Luverne. Knott also attends singles programs at Frazer United Methodist Church on Tuesdays in Montgomery.
Knott will also be attending Praise Assembly Singles Conference in Hamilton on Nov. 12-13.
The theme of the conference is "Have You Seen My Lover?" This conference will be based on Song of Solomon 3:1-5.
What a wonderful way to point you to your true lover, Jesus. These will be two days filled with praise, worship, fellowship and the love of Jesus.

South Luverne Baptist Church's 2004 Heart Walk team members invite everyone to be their guests at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30 for a special event.
Many performers, comprised of South Luverne Talent, will be singing as famous stars to support the Crenshaw County Heart Walk. You will surely want to be a part of this star-studded evening.
There will be a Vince Gill, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Lu Lu Roman, Rickey Scaggs, George Beverley Shea, Louise Mandrel, Martina McBride, Ce Ce Winan, Shelia Walsh and many more who have agreed to be a part of this special event. This concert will be Fun! Fun! Fun!

A Fifth Sunday Night Singing will be held at South Luverne Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31.
The featured singers will be the Larch Family of Wetumpka. They will bless you with their singing and their Testimony. This group recently gave a concert in Glenwood and from all reports they are great!
South Luverne Baptist will have a World Mission Emphasis, 4Corner Ministries at 6 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

A call to serve: Ms. La Rue Kelsoe, a member of Dozier Beta Sigma Phi and chairperson of a special project they have undertaken would like to ask for our readers' help. Dozier Beta Sigma Phi members are collecting items to fill care packages to send to our Troops overseas.
The Air Force will receive these items, pack them properly and ship them to our troops at no charge. The list of travel size items that are most needed may be obtained by calling Meadowcrest office at 335-6643. A list can be faxed or mailed to you. Please leave your name and address on answering machine.

Luverne Mayor Joe Rex Sport was the guest speaker at the Luverne Garden Club on Oct. 5 in the home of Dale Shepherd, with Sherri Richburg as co-hostess.
Mayor Sport discussed the city's plans for renovation of downtown Luverne and the restoration of Mineral Springs. He also state they had found the old courthouse clock and hoped to restore and relocate it in the near future.
In the business session, Voncile Nichols, Linda Bland, Pat Folmar, District VI meeting chair and co-chair, discussed plans for the club to co-host the District VI meeting with the two Brantley Garden Clubs on Oct. 19 at the Bethany Center in Brantley.
Also present were Nancy Bees, Mazelle Brook, Woon Sun Cho, Denise Crowell, Julia Davis, Olivia Davis, Courtney Garner, Linda Jones, Hilda Maddox, Maria Harshbarger, Frances Preston and Barbara Windham.

Wilburn and Doris Schofield, Betty Bray, Elgie Lee Mason, Voncile Nichols, Julia and Bubba Davis, Mazelle and J.I. Brook and Betty and Tom Russell of First Baptist Church of Luverne enjoyed fun, fellowship and spiritual renewal at the Senior Adult Retreat at Shocco Springs Oct. 11-13.
Among the many conference leaders was our own State Auditor, Beth Chapman, who has Crenshaw County ties. Many well-known preachers, musicians and conference leader were also on hand.
Eileen Wright, who also as Crenshaw County ties, was in charge of the retreat.
