Brantley observes Halloween tonight

Published 12:00 am Thursday, October 28, 2004

Time is really flying by. Someone came into my work the other day and reminded us of how many days we have until Christmas.

Speaking of reminders, this is the weekend the time changes so you should not only set your clocks forward, but change the batteries in your smoke detector too.

Dozier Freewill Baptist Church had its benefit singing last Saturday.

Michelle from the Good News Quartet and Tommy and Pam Stricklin from Samson were the guest singers. Their 15-year-old son Bryan also came along.

Church members Frank Walker, Bro. Rockey Pearce, Jason Pearce and Bill Hendrick started the singing and the whole night was just wonderful.

Pearce's wife April didn't feel well so she decided to stay at Bro. Rockey and Sister Debbie's house. During the singing they got the call that April had been taken to the hospital.

April and Jason are expecting their second child so she was admitted into the hospital. As of deadline, she still hadn't had the baby and they were going to keep her for awhile.

Please pray for this family that April and the baby will be alright.

We had a church meeting recently and Jason and Susie Byrd were elected youth leaders. Jason has been sincere in his call from God and has been picking up youth when they need a ride to church.

Please pray for Jason and Susie as they work for the Lord to have this ministry grow in the church.
