The Greenville Lions Club will host Alabama Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley at its meeting at noon on Monday, Oct. 25 at the YMCA.
Lion Jessie McWilliams arranged for Baxley to visit and speak to the Lions and other interested citizens.
&uot;The way it came about is I was at a conference in Mobile and Lucy Baxley was there,&uot; he said. &uot;She addressed the County Commission Association. I called her and asked her if she would be willing to come to Greenville and speak to the Lion’s Club.
She most graciously accepted and we look forward to it.&uot;
McWilliams said the Lions are excited about her visit and knows her keynote address will be interesting and enlightening.
&uot;We know it will be a great day,&uot; McWilliams said. &uot;She is a very exciting person to be around. She doesn’t meet a stranger and is very well versed in all areas of city and county government.&uot;
The Lions don’t want to be selfish with Baxley and are inviting the public to join them for lunch with the lieutenant governor.
Tickets for the event are $7 and reservations can be made by calling the Greenville Chamber of Commerce at 382-3251.
Please call by Monday, Oct. 18th, which is the deadline.
