Miss Greater Greenville 2004 Melinda Toole arrives at Samford University tomorrow to begin a week of events that culminates with the crowning of Miss Alabama 2004 next Saturday night.

Toole is the first Miss Greater Greenville since the birth of the new preliminary earlier this year.

Toole will participate in the weeklong competition.

&uot;It is so special for the contestants to receive notes of encouragement, flowers or well wishes,&uot; said Sue Arnold, with the Miss Greater Greenville board. &uot;For Melinda to know that the people of Greenville support her while she is representing our city would mean a great deal to her and it allows us to cheer her on from here in Greenville throughout the grueling week.
