We#039;ve avoided proration, but at what cost?

At this point, I do not know who voted for the plan that is currently in existence, but it is beyond my understanding why those that we vote into office would want us to pay higher taxes.
However, in looking at the other side of the issue, I would imagine that the greatest concern of these legislators was the possible loss of jobs.
The unemployment rate was over one percent higher in November than
it was this same time last year. Most everyone you come in contact with these days either has been directly affected by a lay-off or knows someone who has.
But, I guess the best thing to come out of all of this is that maybe the children of Alabama will not be affected right now.
My biggest concern is how far in the long run will they be?
