The Greenville Dixie Youth All-stars are still at it, plugging away toward the State Championship Tournament, according to Head Coach Fred Johnson.
"We have played all week and only lost one game," Johnson said. "That one was against Ozark, and we have identified and improved all of our weaknesses in regard to them."
Johnson said the one loss was preventable.
"We had 11 errors during the Ozark game," Johnson said. "We have since worked on getting past those errors, and I feel confident that we will do just fine."
Johnson, who said he has been working everyday with the team to prepare for the return match against Ozark, said there were only two games in the way of the District 6 championship for the team, and Ozark was the first.
"We will play them again on Friday night," Johnson said. "We have seen a great deal of support from the parents and fans, and I think that has a lot to do with a player's morale, and his playing ability as well."
