IRS warns of ‘dirty dozen’

The Internal Revenue Service has issued its 2010 “dirty dozen” list of tax scams. Tax schemes are illegal and can lead to imprisonment and fines for both scam artists and taxpayers. The county's road infrastructure is falling apart. Recent heavy rains and hard freezes have only hastened the decay of rural roads across the county. Potholes are appearing daily. Last Saturday morning, there were plenty of refreshments in the boardroom of the Butler County Board of Education. Trays stacked high with doughnuts, muffins, and pastries and platters of fresh fruit and cheese accompanied coffee, orange juice and water. Read story
