Def Jam recording artist Willy Northpole will perform in Georgiana on Feb. 28 to help promote his upcoming album.
The concert is planned as a special event for high school seniors, according to promoter and Georgiana native Fredrick “Flamond” Smith.
“The idea of the concert is a treat for the area’s high school seniors…preferably my sister, who is a senior at Georgiana High,” said Smith. “This concert is a month before Willy Northpole’s debut album ‘The Connect.'”
The concert will be in Hank Williams Sr. Memorial Park.
Smith said he would be in Georgiana on Jan. 16 to prepare for the concert and advanced tickets will go on sale then. More information about tickets, as well as concert time, will be made available at a future date.
Northpole’s album will be released by Disturbing Tha Peace Records, LLC and distributed by Dej Jam. DTP was founded by three-time Grammy award winning rapper Ludacris. Both Ludacris and Northpole were featured on the cover of DUB – a magazine devoted to automobile customization – in November.
“I look for three things in an artist: hard work, talent and star power. Willy has all three; he’s humble, and I can tell he definitely wants it,” Ludacris told DUB.
Northpole is from Phoenix, Arizona.
